About the event

Join us for an engaging evening exploring the complex impacts of childhood trauma. Led by panel host A/Prof Michael Robertson, the discussion features experts in their respective fields including Dr David Graham (Psychiatrist), Dr Jeremy Blumenthal (Psychiatrist) and Ms Amy Olver (Special Counsel).

In this session, we will address the key findings of the scientific literature in areas including the association of childhood trauma and later mental and physical health, intergenerational trauma, the phenomenon of “revictimisation” and its relevance to psychopathology, and the relationship between childhood trauma and later criminal offending.

Through a panel discussion involving medical and legal experts, we will explore challenges on topics including quantification of economic loss, reasonable treatment requirements, analysing causation in complex matters and specific challenges related to gender, culture and other intersectional vulnerabilities.
